Rip and Tear

“Rip and Tear” Size: 12" x 12" Grief series
Denial was tough for me to put into a visual for canvas. I denied that I would miss them. I denied I would not cry and I would be strong for everyone around me. I would constantly dream about them and it was like nothing had ever happened to them. I also denied that both my father and grandpa were going to die from their cancers. I thought they would always be there and watch me grow into the woman I am today, but fate denied us. Ripping up old canvas to try and make another piece was the best way I could portray this feeling.
